Buying the DVD for the opening song

Does this bring back memories?

My first taste of college/fan-club-style anime fandom included Gundam 0083. Ah, Tenchi Muyo! OVA also brings me back to that era. So I was surprised to see another DVD set of Gundam 0083 released in January of this year. You know what that means? True fans that want only one copy will sell their first DVD set to used DVD shops... Then we leechers can buy it for cheep (if you can call 3000 yen per DVD cheep)...

So I bought DVD 1 of 4. This DVD has English voice actors as well. I wish it had subtitles though. The opening song is "The Winner" sung by Miki Matsubara (松原みき). Ah, this is what I left running in the Mac labs long ago (as a downloaded video). Great. But I still don't understand WTF is the deal with "mobile suits" and why it is so important who gets to pilot the "Gundam". I am not a fan and you can call me an ignorant idiot, go ahead.

Also, the female lead voice actress for "Nina Purpleton" is Rei Sakuma (佐久間レイ), oh yeah.
