Kasumi in plastic... (part 1 of 2)

(tags game, Dead or Alive, figure, hardware, Xbox 360, faceplate, sexy)

I am a Dead or Alive Kasumi fan. I can say that it words, or show it in pictures. I can buy her figures. I can join the official fan club. Or I can buy a console based on her.

Or, I can buy a faceplate for the Xbox 360 even before buying the system:

Reclining Kasumi on holiday, or Kasumi waiting for the kill.

Although the official web shop was "out of stock" (are they ever in stock?), Seiden/Tsutaya Kobe pulls through by placing the Xbox 360 Kasumi faceplate near the floor and unadorned or unadvertised (Do they even want to promote their merchandise?) I got it on the hellish 11/22 day. Personally the big minus for me is that she's looking away, but now I know which console orientation I'm going to use.

Behind it was a figure I got almost on release date (2006/06/18): Mon-sieur Bome Collection Vol. 14 "Kasumi White Ver. from 'Dead or Alive'". (MON-SIEUR BOME COLLECTION No.14 DEAD OR ALIVE かすみ KASUMI WHITE Ver. ( PVC塗装済完成品 )) It was scuplted by Bome and mass produced by Kaiyado (sold by Xebec and distributed by Organic). I like her cherry-blossom white costume and I always pick it (costume 2?) in DoA2, DoA3, and DoA Ultimate. I think the pose is from her Sakura Blossom taunt: Back Forward Back+F+P+K. What a lovely animation. Bome's figure set is kinda sexy-scary (hey its for 15 and older) but this figure is a real winner. The next figure in the set is her blue costume, but blue is boring and the pose is aggressive with weapon in hand. The Costco-style platic packaging is annoying, though.

Thanks to Mr. Costume Get for the interesting Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball 2 costume-oriented review, which kickstarted my recent return to this universe. If you can believe it, I haven't played even the Xbox version of DoAX. I must not really be a real Kasumi fan. But it's in my stack somewhere. No trump card set, though, boo hoo.
