we get signal

Important dates: 2006/11/22, 2006/12/02, and random other stuff.

11/22 Wednesday is this month's new game product day. Lots of things coming out. 12/02 is Japan's Nintendo Wii launch day.

I saw a Sony PlayStation 3 interactive demo with my own eyes at the Toys 'R Us store. It was playing a tennis game, something that looked like Sega's Virtua Tennis series. It looked very real, except for the ball which had trails behind it. The tennis game is not a launch title, right?

There are Wii displays all over the place, ready for the frenzy. I was able to get a flyer of Swing Golf Panya. The pre-orders for the system are sold out everywhere. This sign explains that the first shipment is sold out due to fulfilling pre-orders.

I played some Psyvariar 2 at a shop today. Wow did it feel fun. For a time I felt like I was in the zone, but actually I suck and I can't get to level 2 without dying twice.

I bought a lot of games today, all 2000 yen or cheaper. Games that I could live without, though. Since the Wii is compatible with Gamecube, the prices for used software won't decrease. That Super Smash Bros for the Gamecube is still around 5000 yen used, wow. Might as well buy a new copy. I also wanted Mario Tennis for the GameCube but that's full price.

That A-Too store in Nipponbashi has a lot of rare stuff, probably because the prices scare away the buyers. I saw some Tecmo Classic Collection game for the Xbox going for 10000 yen, unopened. I keep cursing myself for not buying it when it was available. Xbox games in glass cases. This seems new to me. I tore myself away and got a 500 yen Dreamcast keyboard (by some knockoff company?) there and that's the end of it.

GBA Micro is getting some of my attention. Recently I wanted to find my Mr. Driller A's becuase I need the feeling of speed. I haven't found it yet though. I'm playing Rhythm Tengoku and it still rocks. I cleared all the stages, but I don't have all the medals and perfects. The drum practice is frustratingly hard but I never seem to tire of it. I leafed through the official guidebook at a shop but reading the pseudo-sheet music notation won't help me pass this game. You can't cheat rhythm.
